Steel Being Placed For Enclosed Rink - In about three and a half months skaters and hockey players will be romping underneath these girders at Veterans Park. Work on enclosing the ice rink is on schedule, says George Owers, superintendent of the city Parks and Recreation Department, and the facility should be open for fun by the end of October. When completed the enclosed rink will have seating capacity for about 2,000 persons. Projected cost of all the improvements is about $550,000. It is being financed through the city's Building Authority. Besides the rink, the facility will include showers and office space.
