Changing pattern of the Willow Run Air Terminal, with new construction and remodeling constantly re-shaping the basic floor plan, is shown in this photograph above. To the left in the immediate foreground are the cinder block walls of a new coffee shop expected to open soon. At the far end of the terminal and directly behind the Christmas tree, is the entrance to a news reel theater which is under construction. The theater is the first of a series planned in airports throughout the nation by Air Terminal Theaters, Inc. To the far left is the counter where air passengers claim their baggage. Passengers with their tickets report to the center counter and tickets for prospective passengers are obtained from the different lines at the right of the long counter. A hooded schedule board, which lists all plane arrivals and departures, is shown just to the right of the ticket windows. In addition to the theater at the southern end of the terminal there is a telephone exchange and a post office. Visitors who come to the terminal to see the planes are routed to a sightseeing ramp via stairs at the northern and southern ends of the terminal.
