Orchestra Shell Construction at West Park, Ann Arbor. Orchestra Shell was constructed with funding from the Works Progress Administration (WPA). In early articles it was referred to as either the "West Park Orchestra Shell" or the "West Park Band Shell" but by the 1940s was referred to only as the "West Park Band Shell"
