Winning Christmas Displays: Winning displays in the Ann Arbor Junior Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Christmas home decoration contest are shown in the above pictures. The religious manger scene [this photo] with the Christ Child was constructed by M. F. Smitley of 1328 Rosewood Ave. The other first place winner was Fred Arnold of 1615 E. Stadium Blvd., who rigged a large Santa Clause on a sleigh being hauled by reindeer, atop his house. (Story on page 15)
