Giant VA Hospital Progresses - Evidence of more bricklayers on the job is apparent in this view of the giant 500-bed Veterans Administration hospital between Geddes Rd. and Glacier Way. Long stymied by a shortage of bricklayers in the area, the project is now rapidly showing more and more of its exterior dress. The estimated completion date is no June, 1952. Its original completion date was March 22 of this year, but several time extensions were granted to the J. D. Hedin Construction Co. of Washington, D.C. general contractors for the job. The cost of the facility was estimated at $7,152,000.
