Bashing Away - Carol Duffy, playing Maxine the innkeeper, with H. E. Gilliam, playing the Rev. Lawrence Shannon at her side, practices bashing coconuts from their husks in preparation for a "bash" on the set of "Night of the Iguana." Three dozen coconuts in their husks were flown from Miami by Delta Airlines for the Ann Arbor Civic Theatre production, which opens at 8 p.m. Thursday in Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre. An appeal in the News for coconuts via Florida travelers brought several responses, with Delta representatives offering to furnish enough of them for the play.
