"Left to right: Ann Arbor Chief of Police Rolland J. (Barney) Gainsely, Ann Arbor Realtor Wendall Hobbs, Pat Nixon, Vice President Richard M. Nixon (the 1960 GOP Presidential candidate --vs. Democratic Senator John F. Kennedy), and -- at right -- Walter Krasny, who succeeded Gainsley as Ann Arbor's Police Chief. They are at the old New York Central railroad depot in Ann Arbor (now the Gandy Dancer restaurant), where the Nixons have just alighted from their train (a campaign special), and are about to climb the steps to a wooden speaker's platform, erected for the occasion beside the Depot Street entrance to the building." ~Wystan Stevens
