Anniversary - An eventful weekend is planned at the Dixboro United Methodist Church, two miles east of U.S. 23 on Plymouth Road, commemorating its 125th anniversary. The public is invited. The New England-style church, which has 337-member congregation, was completed in 1858 and listed in the National Registry of Historical Buildings and Places. Members come from the neighboring communities of Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Plymouth and Canton. Rev. William K. Quick, pastor of the Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Detroit and chairman of the commemorative committee for the 1984 Methodist Church's 200th anniversary, will be the speaker at a church potluck, Saturday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall. The topic will be "Proclaiming the Past - Celebrating the Present - Challenging the Future."
