Gladys McPhee, 15, Victim Of Huron River Dr. Accident

Gladys McPhee, 15-year-old Slauson Junior High school student, of 1692 Miller Ave., died this morning from injuries suffered when the automobile she was driving turned over on the Huron River Dr., one mile east of Dexter about 5:45 yesterday afternoon. Three passengers in the car received minor injuries.
The injured are Walter Vogel, jr., 21, of 1536 Franklin St.; Betty Loper, 15, 1685 Miller Ave., and Betty Poland, 16, 412 Fountain St. They were treated in St. Joseph hospital for cuts and bruises. The two girls are Ann Arbor High school students.
Hurled from the car when it rolled over on a curve, the McPhee girl suffered a severe skull fracture and a brain injury. She died about three o'clock this morning in St. Joseph hospital without regaining consciousness.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orlo McPhee. Born Feb. 22, 1925, at the residence, in Ann Arbor township, she resided there all of her life.
Prior to attending Slauson junior high school, where she was president of her home room, Gladys was a student at Fritz school in the township.
Surviving besides the parents are the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John McPhee, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Steeb, all of 1692 Miller Ave.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Edward Lantz at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Muehlig funeral chapel. Burial will be in Bethlehem cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
