Spartans Win Close Meet By 16-14 Score
EAST LANSING -(AP)- Michigan State College’s wrestling team remained undefeated today after taking a hotly contested meet from the University of Michigan last night by the score of 16 to 14.
The Spartans scored the only fall in the 136-pound match when Leland Merrill threw Ray Deane in 8 minutes and 19 seconds. This match spelled the margin of victory as the events were evenly divided with four decisions apiece. Each team took a match by default with Michigan State gaining one on the illness of Michigan’s Tom Weidig and the Wolverines evening it when Alex Haddad was unable to continue because of a sprained ligament.
The Spartans, who downed Wheaton and Ohio State in previous meets, encounter the Case School of Applied Science here Friday night.
