Anne-Mary Farmer, daughter of Mrs. Benjamin Broadbrooke Farmer of S. Forest Ave. and the late Mr. Farmer, and Joseph H. Buhr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Tall vases of summer flowers in pastel colors were used in the chancel of the church. The bridal music was played by George Faxon, organist.
Miss Farmer, who was given in marriage by her brother, Benjamin Blaine Farmer, wore a princess dress of ivory satin with a heart-shaped neckline, long mousque-taire sleeves and an oval train. Her long veil of ivory tulle was held by a small Juliet cap and she carried an arm bouquet of creamy-white snapdragons centered with a cluster of cymbidium orchids to be worn as a going-away corsage.
Cousin Is Maid Of Honor
The maid of honor, Joan Jenkins of East Lansing, a cousin of the bride, wore lotus blue marquisette, and a tiara of pink cornflowers, and carried a colonial bouquet of pink flowers encircled with white blossoms. The four bridesmaids, in white marquisette, had tiaras of light blue delphinium flowers and carried bouquets of blue flowers edged with white.
The bridesmaids were Margaret Buhr, a sister of the bridegroom; Elaine Baird of the Cutting; Margaret Emswiler of Granger Ave., and Mrs. James Oliver of the Jefferson apartments, the former Elizabeth Kimball of Saginaw. The dresses of the five attendants were alike in style, made with long full skirts and fitted bodices with bishop sleeves and V-shaped necklines.
Mrs. Farmer chose a dress of powder blue lace and crepe with which she had a large hat with a crown of blue flowers, white accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. Mrs. Buhr, the bridegroom’s mother, had on a navy blue lace dress with a hat and other accessories in white and a corsage of yellow roses.
Richard Tasch of Birk Ave. was best man, and the ushers were Carl Benz of Hill St., James S. Meyers of S. Fifth Ave., Jordan Jenkins of East Lansing, and Richard A. Nash of Saginaw.
Wedding Breakfast Follows
The ceremony, to which about 150 guests were bidden, was followed by a wedding breakfast at the home of the bride’s mother for the families, the members of the bridal party and other close friends of the couple. Aunts of the bride, Mrs. Blaine B. Jenkins of Saginaw and Mrs. Guy H. Jenkins of East Lansing poured.
The rehearsal dinner was given Friday night by Mrs. Guy W. Groom of Olivia Ave., for 24 guests. Mrs. Groom’s daughter, Mrs. Carrol Allen of Wyandotte, assisted.
The couple left to motor east and after Aug. 1 will be in their new home on Brockman Blvd. For travelling, Mrs. Buhr put on a print in oyster white and brown with a Bailey green redingote, brown felt hat with oyster white facing, and white accessories.
