Dr. Carrie Simpson Burr, 833 Tappan Ct., a graduate of the University Medical School in the class of 1898, died Saturday morning in University hospital where she had been under treatment for a heart ailment since June 22.
Dr. Burr is survived by a sister, Mrs. Elsie Ingels of Glendale, Calif., and a brother, Dr. Norman Simpson of Kokomo, Ind., the former family home. Brief services are to be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the Muehlig Funeral chapel by Dr. Henry Lewis, rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal church, of which Mrs. Burr was a member. Burial will take place in Kokomo.
Mrs. Burr took a prominent part in work for the Ann Arbor chapter of the American Red Cross in World War I. She served as lecturer in hygiene in the Michigan Department of Health and as instructor in hygiene in the University of Texas for short periods.
