Jack Welch Services

Funeral services for Jack H. Welch, 19-year-old Ann Arbor youth who was killed yesterday in an airplane crash near Marquette, will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Carl H. Keehn Funeral Home in Dexter.

Rev. William Hainsworth will officiate. Burial will be made in Bethlehem Cemetery, Ann Arbor.

The youth was born Nov. 14, 1927, in Jackson, the son of Carl H. Welch, who now lives at 311 E. Huron St., and the late Ruth Straehle Welch. He was graduated from Ann Arbor High School and had planned to enter Ypsilanti State Normal College this fall.

A veteran of World War II, he served as technician fifth class in the ordnance department at Fort Meyer, Va.

Since the death of his mother when he was a small child, Welch had made his home with an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Outwater, 4725 N. Delhi Rd., who were incorrectly identified in the News yesterday as his step-father and mother.

Surviving are his father; one brother, Robert C., of Ann Arbor; a grandfather, Fred Straehle; Mr. and Mrs. Outwater; several other aunts and uncles.
