Body Of Pfc. Diuble, Killed In Holland, Will Be Reburied
BODY OF PFC. DIUBLE, KILLED IN HOLLAND, WILL BE REBURIED
Funeral services for Pfc. Paul G. Diuble, who was killed in action Oct. 9, 1944, while fighting in Holland, will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at Salem Lutheran Church in Scio Township. Rev. Arthur Wacker will officiate.
He was the son of Mrs. Diuble and the late Ernest H. Diuble, of 9970 W. Liberty Rd.
Diuble was inducted into the service on Sept. 24, 1942, at Fort Custer, Mich., and received his training at Camps Walters and Bowie in Texas, and at Camp Beal, Calif.
He was sent overseas in May of 1944 following a March furlough at home that year. He was assigned to a glider infantry unit.
Diuble was a graduate of the Elgin Watch Co. training school at Chicago.
Besides he mother, Pfc. Diuble is survived by a brother, Norman, at home; and three sisters, Mrs. Earl Layton, Mrs. Russell Downing and Mrs. Alton Blaess, all of Ann Arbor.
Mr. Diuble died May 27, 1948. A brother, Alton, died in 1940, and a sister, Louise, died in 1945.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be at the Muehlig Chapel from noon Thursday until noon Friday.
