Mrs. Clara E. Schmidt, 96, a lifelong Ann Arbor resident, died Sunday at the home of a son, Walter J. Schmidt of 616 W. Washington St.
She was born May 9, 1861, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Breining Weimar. On May 9, 1883, she married Adolph Schmidt. He died March 5, 1909.
Mrs. Schmidt was a member of the Bethlehem Evangelical and Reformed Church.
Besides Walter Schmidt, survivors include another son, Ellery A. of Paw Paw; eight grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Muehlig Chapel with the Rev. Walter S. Press officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
