SCOUT LIBRARY AIDES: Seven of the 12 Senior Girl Scouts who serve as Library Aides as part of a program for service opportunities are shown at work preparing books for shelf display at the Ann Arbor Public Library. Developed by Homer Chance, head librarian, the project is designed to give the girls experience in library work and a chance to serve the community. Helping with plastic book jackets and pasting pockets are (standing, left to right), Gail Maynard, Marianna Hoad, Susan Wilde and (front desk) Rebecca Edmonson and Rita Deighton. Miss Eileen Simpson, head of the catalog department, assists Sandra Cassell and Elizabeth Elving in organizing books (rear desk).
