RIBBON CUTTING: The propeller of a plane carrying Mayor Samuel J. Eldersveld cuts a ribbon across the Ann Arbor Municipal Airport's new and first paved runway, a 3,500-foot strip. An estimated 150 persons turned out yesterday afternoon for dedication ceremonies. About 80 persons were given free rides in privately-owned planes.
