Rev. Lewis’ Wife, 73, Dies
Mrs. May Erdman Lewis, 73, wife of the Reverend Henry Lewis, rector-emeritus of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, died today at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital.
Mrs. Lewis was born in Philadelphia, Pa., March 4, 1895, the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Charles R. Erdman of Princeton, N. J. She was graduated from Miss Fine’s School, Princeton, and later attended Miss Porter’s School for Girls, Farmington, Conn. She was married to Dr. Lewis cn Sept. 20,1919.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Patricia Ingwerson of Traverse City, Mrs. Harry (Katharine) Bailey of Palo Alto, Calif., and Mrs. Thomas (Marilyn) Howarth of Atherton, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Francis Cleveland of Tamworth, N. H.; two brothers, Charles R. Erdman of Princeton, N. J., and Pardee Erdman of Santa Barbara, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Gordon M. Jones, rector. Interment, private, will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
