A rained-out Translove Energies (MC-5) rock music concert scheduled for yesterday afternoon in West Park has tentatively been rescheduled for 2 p.m. next Sunday, May 25, in the park.
Because of the rain, a special meeting of the City Council on Saturday to approve the concert proved unnecessary.
The council voted six to one to amend a resolution passed last summer to prohibit the performance of electronic music in city parks.
The amendment will permit the performance of electronically amplified music in the parks when a permit is granted by the superintendent of parks and recreation.
Permits will be issued on the provision that such concerts are performed at “reasonable sound levels, reasonable times and for reasonable duration.”
