Leslie, Mrs. Emily E.
1831 Traver -
Age 86, passed away Friday, March 12, at her home. Born January 16, 1890 in Atchinson, Kansas, she was the daughter of Emil and Elizabeth Ebner. Mrs. Leslie had been a resident of Ann Arbor since 1919. She married Dr. Eugene H. Leslie November 10, 1927 in Los Angeles, Calif. Mrs. Leslie had been active in the Women's Faculty Club - U of M from 1919 to 1929 where her husband was professor of chemical engineering; she attended public schools in Atchinson, Kansas, was a graduate of Kansas State University in 1912 and did graduate work at Columbia University. She was also active in the Ann Arbor Women's Garden Club for many years serving as President from 1956 to 1958 and the National Farm and Garden Association. Mrs. Leslie was co-donor with her husband, Dr. Eugene H. Leslie of Leslie Park and Golf Course which with the Dean's gift was the most generous gift in the city of Ann Arbor's history. She is survived by: her husband; one brother, Emil Ebner of Sarasota, Florida; four nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 16, at 1 p.m. at the Northside Community Church with Rev. Don Yost officiating. Burial will follow in Washtenong Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Horticultural Therapy Group of the Ann Arbor Women's Garden Club in Mrs. Leslie's name - c/o Mrs. James Zeissler, 623 Duane Ct., Ann Arbor, Mich. 48103.
