Lebanese Pianist In Musicale Series

Walid Raja Howrani, a young Lebanese pianist, will open the spring series of Morning Musicales sponsored by the Society for Musical Arts at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ann Arbor Women's City Club.
Mr. Howrani received his training in Moscow under the noted Emil Gilels and Yacob Zak.
Among the honors he has received are the Certificate of Honor at the International Tchaikowsky Competition in 1966 and the 1968 Laureate in the Queen Elizabeth of Belgium Competition.
These successes led to many concert performances, including three tours of the Soviet Union, three of Poland and appearances in Prague, East Germany and Lebanon.
He has also played over 60 concerts in the U.S. and Canada.
