Age 86, died Sunday, March 15, 1981 at St. Joseph Hospital after 5 weeks illness. He was born January 15, 1895 in Ann Arbor, a son of John F. and Suzan Goodhew Looker. He had been a resident of Ann Arbor his entire life. He was married to Gertrude Schlupe on April 29, 1933. He had been an Ann Arbor City Clerk from November 8, 1949 until his retirement January 16, 1965. Prior to that he was Deputy City Treasurer after retiring as City Clerk. He was a member of the Washtenaw County Board of Canvassers. He was a veteran of WWI U.S. Army, a lifetime member of the Graf O'Hara Post No. 423 of the Veterans of Foreign War and of the Erwin Prieskorn Post No. 46 of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, one son, Fred Looker, Jr. of Saline; two daughters, Karen Craig of Roswell, Georgia; Susan Mae Lowell of Rose Creek, Minnesota; twelve grandchildren including Janet McCotter who made her home with the Lookers. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Muehlig Chapel with the Rev. Orville L. E. Willimann officiating. Burial will be made in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.
