Flower Show winners announced
Gerald Hodge won the Award of Horticultural Excellence for the most outstanding entry in the entire horticultural division of the Ann Arbor Garden Club’s Flower Show.
The show, “Christmas - Here and There,” was held Dec. 3 and 4 in Arborland Mall.
Other winners included: Chris Rochman, Award of Merit, a horticultural entry; and blue ribbons (first place) to Jane Hayward, evergeen branches; Grace McKenzie, fruited evergreen branches; Greta Smith, other fruited branches; Gerald Hodge, cacti; Nancy Rosaen and Ann Frey, succulents; Gerald Hodge, hanging plants; Claire Hodge, blooming plants; Elizabeth Ives, vining plants; Jeanie Lunn, ferns; Chris Rochman, miscellaneous foliage plants.
Jeanie Lunn also won an Award of Creativity in the artistic design division for her English Christmas tree. A similar award went to Jane Dye for her Mexican exhibition table. Other blue ribbon winners in this division were Jeanie Lunn, Christmas trees; Chris Rochman, breakfast trays; Jane Dye, exhibition tables; Elinore Yard, madonna arrangements; Jane Dye, dinner tables; and Vera Payor, Dutch shoes.
