Allmendinger, Marie V.

Age 94, died March 17, 1987 at her residence. She was born October 1, 1892 in Baltimore, Maryland. She had been a resident of Ann Arbor since 1921 and she had made her home in Glacier Hills since 1973. She was married March 26, 1921 to Ernest J. Allmendinger, former University of Michigan all-American football player; he preceded her in death May 7, 1973. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a long time member of the Ann Arbor Garden Club. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by the Ervin Foundry and Manufacturing Company of Adrian. After her married, she had been employed at the ticket office, University of Michigan, Athletic Dept. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marian L.) Zwinck of Whitmore Lake, Mrs. Warren (Doris M.) Danekind of Oregon, Ohio; six grandchildren, Robert C. Zwinck Jr., C. Edward Zwinck, John W. Danekind, Gwen M. Willson, Martin E. Danekind and Gayle Martinez; 16 great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Yeager Chapel of Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Fred Harms officiating. Memorial tributes may be made to the General Memorial Fund of Zion Lutheran Church or the Glacier Hills Residence Assistance Fund.
