Second grade pupils at the Jones School have set up a model "health" store as a study project under the guidance of their teacher, Miss Sara Donnelly. Its purpose is to acquaint the youngsters with the business of buying and selling and also to give them practical practice in arithmetic, lettering, and other school subjects. The five pupils pictured are (left to right) Marilyn Jean Kitt of 310 N. Fifth Ave., Charles Bird of 511 N. Fifth Ave., Thomas R. DeVries of 110 N. State St., Annabella Portilla of 119 N. Main St., and James J. Dixon of 515 N. Fifth Ave. Gene D. Maybee, principal of the school, is inspecting the project.

The garden, which contains some 2,000 tulip plants, is believed to be one of the largest, if not the largest private planting of tulips in the area. Michigan Citrus: Walter P. Bauer of 516 Soule Blvd. holds an orange he grew from the plant nearby. The smaller plant bears lemons. Bauer sent way for four citrus trees two years ago and had grown them in regular flower pots. In the summer he places them outside, later moving them into his house where they are kept near a window. Each plant produces a number of lemons or oranges.

The caretaker at the fraternity house, Albert Wall, takes the plant's latest measurement, which amounted to nearly 20 inches.

The largest we've hear about is the one in the scale here. It weighs 12 1/2 pounds and is being displayed by Mrs. Emma Carr of 1495 Kensington Dr. Her son, Philip Benzinger found it.
