TWENTY YEARS OF FOLK - Singer/songwriter Susan Werner performs at Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor on Saturday night as part of the Ann Arbor Folk Festival. The Philadelphia-based artist was born in Iowa, which proved fodder for some humor in her set, including an observation that her home state's name derives from an Indian word meaning "doormat." Others slated to perform at the festival were Nanci Griffith, Leon Redbone, David Bromberg, Jay Ungar and Milly Mason, Patty Griffin, Aly Blain and Phil Cunningham, Mike Gordon, Martin Sexton, Dan Bern, and Les Barker. This was the 20th annual edition of the festival, which serves as a benefit for the legendary Ann Arbor music club The Ark.
