The Lochinvar: This is the living room area of the Lochinvar model house, a bi-level, at 600 Dartmoor Rd. It has three bedrooms, two dining areas, a family room, two-car garage, 1 1/2 baths, selling for $24,990. Dover Parkside houses are in the $25,000 to $35,000 range and feature living area from between 1,200 to 2,200 square feet. Two Dover Parkside models, besides the Lochinvar, are also on Dartmoor Rd. They sell for between $25,990 and $26,990. The G. V. Airey Building Co. is the developer, builder and seller.

So far, more than 30 for 90 houses to be erected in the subdivision have been sold. The subdivision features hilly sites, permitting a variety of tri-level and two-story houses to be constructed there.

OLDEST EMPLOYEE GETS HIS 'E' BUTTON: Lt. Arthure Langfield, USN (retired) is shown pinning the navy "E" for excellence button to the lapel of Julius Reule, longest employed worker for the Federal Screw Works branch at Chelsea. The presentation occurred as part of a noon-time celebration Saturday during which the Chelsea plant received the "E" pennant for being ahead of schedule on war-time orders for manufacture of fuses and projectiles to be used by the United States navy. All employes of the Chelsea branch received "E" buttons similar to the one given Mr. Reule.

THE REAL THING COULD HAPPEN: An attempt to illustrate what could happen to the 75-year-old present Courthouse, labelled a "firetrap" by the State Fire Marshal, is made by the Ann Arbor Junior Chamber of Commerce in a drive for support for the Courthouse proposals. Here, Richard Wander (left) and Dale Richards stand beside a smoking cardboard model representing the Courthouse. While it's strictly a gag, the message is clear. A fire in the ancient Washtenaw Courthouse would consume thousands of the county's most vital records. The News Joins with the JCC in urging "yes" votes on the two proposals to finance a new, modern county building.

Marchers, warmly bundled up for the crisp January temperatures, started at the Washtenaw County Court building, and in the top picture, were walking along Main Street, near Miller. The march continued along Miller, in the bottom picture, and ended at the church, at 850 Red Oak, in the picture at left. A memorial and rededication service was held at the church, with the theme of the service being "Toward Fulfilling the Dream."
