Passersby on their way to the balcony helped themselves to 2 1/2 packs' worth in an afternoon.

The crane and mixer appear above. No one was injured in the accident, but the mixer, the building and the crane were damaged.

They are the two sisters of Mrs. Riggs, Mrs. Franklin H. Warner of Claremont, Calif. and Mrs. Frank J. Pitner of LaPorte, Ind. Haying The Old Way Four generations of the Ticknor family take a break while doing some old-fashioned haying at the Ticknor centennial farm located on Stone School Road, near Packard Road. The family used an old hay loader which they are standing by and a tractor to do the work which is now normally done by a hay baler. The work used to be called "putting up the hay" and included the use of pitchforks. It's now called hay baling. Haisley, during an all-faculty meeting held yesterday afternoon in Pattengill Auditorium. Like their students, the teachers seem a little shy about taking front row seats. First full day of school is scheduled for next Monday, although classes will meet for a half day on Friday. Approximately 5,000 students are expected from the Ann Arbor area.
