MUSEUM PIECE: This Climax logging locomotive arrived here yesterday and was sidetracked at the Ann Arbor Railroad depot prior to delivery to Northwood Enterprises, an Ann Arbor corporation which is building the nation's first "live" museum of the logging industry. The museum will be on 65-acre tracts on Seven Mile Rd. near Whitmore Lake in Northfield township. This locomotive will carry museum visitors to various installations.

VACUUM TANKS FOR WILLOW RUN WIND TUNNEL: These oil car tanks, converted from supplies intended for the USSR during the war, are pumped free of air to create the vacuum which draws air through the University of Michigan's supersonic wind tunnel at the Willow Run Laboratories. The air, which technicians hope to get up to speeds of 7,000 miles per hour, takes only 15 seconds to pass through the tunnel-- and two and one-half hours to be pumped back to the supply balloon.

UPSET CAR GETS HEAVE-HO: Wrecking crewmen launch a back-to-normal movement for this car, which skidded into a ditch and overturned alongside Geddes Ave. just east of Vinewood Blvd. shortly after 8 o'clock this morning. Three occupants, all University students on their way from Willow Village to Ann Arbor, escaped injury. The driver, Herbert H. Meyer, 25, a graduate student from Kalamazoo who lives at 1014 E. Harwich Ct., Willow Village, said the crash occurred when he applied his brakes suddenly to avoid hitting another car that drove out into Geddes from a side-road. The other machine went on without stopping, he said.
