UPSET CAR GETS HEAVE-HO: Wrecking crewmen launch a back-to-normal movement for this car, which skidded into a ditch and overturned alongside Geddes Ave. just east of Vinewood Blvd. shortly after 8 o'clock this morning. Three occupants, all University students on their way from Willow Village to Ann Arbor, escaped injury. The driver, Herbert H. Meyer, 25, a graduate student from Kalamazoo who lives at 1014 E. Harwich Ct., Willow Village, said the crash occurred when he applied his brakes suddenly to avoid hitting another car that drove out into Geddes from a side-road. The other machine went on without stopping, he said.

The bearded and be-turbaned Pandher is a Sigh- a member of a 450-year-old Hindu sect noted for military prowess and total disregard of caste distinctions.

The Almons came to Michigan from the famed Mt. Tremblant, north of Montreal, where they had been skiing instructors for two years. They're shown above trying out the snow on one of the shorter runs at the Gaylord project.

Bridge Work: The $530,000 Carpenter Road bridge project over I-94 in Pittsfield Township is nearing completion. The northern ramp to the bridge (left) is almost completed while the southern ramp (right) remains to be done. Traffic is heavy on the westbound lanes of I-94 as motorists weave through a maze of warning barrels around the construction project. The Carpenter Road bridge, closed for replacement in September 1975 is scheduled to reopen Nov. 1, according to project engineer John Aerts.
