State Police and local authorities watched closely as cars streamed out of the park, seven miles east of Jackson. At a governor's conference at Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., Milliken said he was asking State Police Director Fredrick Davids to "insure that evidence is carefully collected and documented so that drug pushers can be arrested and prosecuted." Everything from marijuana to cocaine was offered to youths. However the vast majority of the youths using drugs stayed only with marijuana or hashish. Goose Lake officials said there were no acts of violence during the festival. Around 400 private guards were hired to watch the area. A park spokesman said it was the quietest, most peaceful rock festival event held in the nation.
