The capsule f actory ia the the seconcl ward burned at an early hour last Sunday. The flre was in all probability ineeudiary in its orgin, there being no fire in the building at the time and when the flre was first discovered, it was eight feet from the eugine room. The building which was a long, narrow vvooden structure burned rapidly. The upper part of the building was without partitious giving the flames f uil sweep. The fire departmeut did good work in eudeavoring to save the building and ünally extinguished the flames before the front of the building had been distroyed. The eutire machinery was however destroyed and the building so uearly consumed that what was saved was of but little value. The building be!onged to the Ann Arbor Improvemeut Company composed of the business men of the city and was erected last year. The loss on the building was S4.000, insured for $3,000. Bullis & Co.; the manufacturera place their loss on machinery at $11,000 on which there was an insurance of $7,500. The firm employed 27 hands. It is not yet known whether the factory will be rebuilt or whether the manufacture of capsules in Ann Arbor will be resunied. No pains should De spaied to ferret out the incendiary.
