SALINE DOG AT HOME IN CLASSROOM: Merritt Martin's dog Blackie looks pretty intelligent in this picture taken in the second-grade room of the Saline schools. She has been going to school for more than a year, and she has the privileges of regular puils including a desk next to her master. She sits up like this for awhile every morning, lies down when she is tired and is lulled to sleep during the music lesson. She never makes a disturbance in the classoom.

Herbert Sager, Gary Lee Harvey and Karl Karsian (left to right) are pictured in Fiegel's store where the 10-year-old boy was outfitted yesterday for Christmas. Gary Lee's father, Russell Wayne Harvey, was killed in Germany during the crossing of the Rhine. The boy was in the fifth grade at Pittsfield township school until a year ago when he was stricken with osteomyelitis. His knee and leg have been in a case which has been removed temporarily. He lives with his mother and two younger brothers in East Ann Arbor. Money for the suit was provided by the Christmas bureau through the Veteran's Counseling center.
