PLAY IN STATE TOURNAMENT TODAY: Edwards Brothers, who won the girls' city softball championship recently, will compete in the state tournament at Lansing today against the Remington Rand ten of Benton Harbor. If victorious today, Edwards will swing into action again Sunday afternoon at Ranney park against the survivor of games between three teams, Peter Pan of Lansing, Mutal Drugs of Niles, and Holt Recorders. The contest will start at 1 o'clock. Children of the church school of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church will help celebrate the 128th anniversary of the independence of Greece tomorrow by presenting a play depicting Greek patriotism at 8 o'clock in the evening at the school room in the church. Here the participants in the play are shown attired in Greek costumes that will be used in the production.

RIDE IN PARADE: Eldridge Askew, 3, and his little brother, Zonnechris, 22 months old, rode in a paper-decorated wagon yesterday in the parade that climaxed summer activities at the Bethel A.M.E. nursery school. A plan to continue to the nursery school through the winter is now being discussed.

Thirty-two members of the Turkey Club, a University organization of students from Turkey, last night contributed blood at the U-M's first all-campus blood drive. Here, Nurse Mrs. Viola E. Smith (left) signs up Lt. Tansin User of the Turkish Navy as Capt. Ahayn Tirak of the Turkish Army watches. Donors may indicate the blood pools to which their contributions will go. The drive, conducted in an American Red Cross mobile unit set up at the South Quadrangle, will close Friday. To date, 600 donors have given their blood of 1,150 persons who pledged to contribute.
