SIGN OF FALL: "Baggage-smashers" at the Michigan Central depot know the University is back in session as they ruefully eye the forerunners of approximately 14,000 trunks or other pieces of luggage they will handle before the rush subsides. Surveying a part of the morning's load are Ken Behnke (left) and Bill Schlect (right). Extra help has been added by both the Railway Express Co. and the railroad to expedite deliveries.

Their first activity of a busy week-end there was a march up Michigan Ave. from the railroad station in what was expected to be a "pre-victory" parade.
