Christmas Snow A Week Too Late. The snow that should have been here for Christmas finally arrived yesterday, draping the city with a beautiful white blanket. HOME MADE ICE RINK: O. M. Pearl of 1203 S. Forest Ave. has converted his front yard into a 36 x 18-foot ice rink, complete with illumination for night skating and music piped through a speaker on the home's front porch. Pearl has even added the authenticity of blue lines by painting bluing on a sub-layer of the ice. The average thickness is about 3 inches.
