The tattered eight-year-old welcome sign located off the I-94 expressway may be making its exit soon. Ypsilanti Area Jaycees can no longer maintain it because a new state law stipulates that a sign of its size must be maintained by a municipality. So, Jaycees offered to donate it to Ypsilanti City and Township, but officials from both municipalities indicate they're not interested. The sign now faces condemnation by the state.
