SOIL AND WATER SAVING PROJECT UNDERTAKEN IN COUNTY: Something unusual for this part of the state is going on these days on the farm of Dr. C. E. Vreeland, southeast of Dixboro in Superior township. Drainage-type terraces are being cut into hilly pasture land to keep the water from running off and into the pond shown at the right in the above picture. The project has been supervised by the agricultural engineering department of Michigan State College. The terraces, which will take the form of shallow drainage ditches, will be seeded over.
