Aids Polio Drive With Roosevelt Dimes: David Lumbard (left) seven years old, a second grade Tappan School student, admires a few of the Roosevelt dimes Robert Thompson, 10, an Eberbach fifth grader, has contributed to the March of Dimes drive for the fight against infantile paralysis. Bob started his collection a year ago and this week handed in $5 in Roosevelt dimes for the campaign which was originated by the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt, himself a polio victim. David takes a special interest in the collection as he, too, is a victim of infantile paralysis and his father, Robert A. Lumbard of 1319 Wells St., is city chairman for the 1948 dimes drive which ends today. Bob's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Thompson of Morton Ave. Those wishing to help in the drive may still send their contributions to Ann Arbor Post Office Box No. 278.

Helps March Of Dimes - George Anderson, 232 Murray Ave., wears a big smile as he holds the March of Dimes canister which he filled so quickly and well that he won a five-dollar prize from Stofflet News Co. George collected $42.77 for the March of Dimes campaign in the space of three hours and thereby topped all 22 of his newsboy friends who were in the contest. He thinks his collection will help March of Dime campaigners who are raising money for the fight against infantile paralysis.

Perform To Fight Polio - These five performers in a neighborhood "circus" raised $2.15 for the fight against polio. Staged for friends and neighbors in the 800 block of Princeton Ave., the circus featured (left to right) Coriene Hedel, 8, Tippy, Patricia Kuohn, 10, Wendy Manausa, 9, and Katherine Lyke, 11. The girls decided to give to the polio fund because Patricia is a former victim of the disease. Other donations made later swelled the girls' polio fund to $11.74.
