THE VILLAGE STORE: This is the interior of the new Village Store which was opened recently in a new building at 1205 S. University Ave. The new woman's apparel shop has an Early American decor. Skirts are hung from carriage wheels and blouses are in reproductions of old-fashioned tobacco bins. The firm, which was stores in Birmingham and Saginaw, does much of its own clothing design work in co-operation with manufacturers.

"The Street': An estimated $1,000,000 has been "pumped" into the S. University Ave. business sector, revitalizing it from a shopping area of store facades attached to houses to a center similar to the S. State St. business area. The problems and future of the S. University area are being studied by a businessman's association there.
