Loyal Teamsters Welcome 'Jimmy' Home: Detroit Teamster Union leader Jimmy Hoffa was welcomed at Willow Run Airport yesterday afternoon by a wildly cheering crowed (top) as he returned from Florida after being elected president of the national union. Airport officials shifted the welcoming ceremonies to the east side of the airfield when unionists predicted a crowd of up to 20,000 teamsters. Less than 1,000 turned out, however, together with about 175 cars and two dozen huge trucks. One airport official termed it the "best organized" reception ever held at Willow Run. Hoffa was presented with an Indian headdress, given to "our chief," and a commemorative plaque which he olds during a brief address [this photo] in which he scored the "forces attacking me and the union."
