LANDMARK BEING WRECKED: Once the Sunday morning gathering place of Ann Arbor's German Lutherans, the building at @. First and W. Washington Sts. is being torn down to make more room in the Huron Motor Sales lot. Since its abandonment as a church in 1894, it has been used for a carriage barn and garage.

Somewhere there's a curb, but the drivers who parked these cars in the downtown area apparently were more concerned with getting out than with getting close. With too many other emergency problems about as an aftermath of the snowstorm, city police were making no attempts today at enforcing the parking meter limitations.

READY FOR ALERT: Two police officers put barricades in place at Washington and Main Sts. as sirens warn motorists and pedestrians in downtown Ann Arbor of a "bomber attack." The parked cars have been deserted by motorists who were instructed to go into nearby stores during the five minute test.
