Early histories of the township, describe how Dixboro residents cut blocks of ice from Frain's Lake during winter months. The blocks were taken to Ypsilanti and sold. To the lower left is US-12, the Ann Arbor-Plymouth road, which crosses the township. Prospect Rd. curves through the upper portion of the picture.
