Officials Confront Confessed Slayer: The hectic four-day investigation of the Sunday morning murder of St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital Nurse Pauline Campbell came to an abrupt end early this morning when three teen-age youths confessed the robbery-inspired slaying. Here, officials confront William R. Morey, 18, (second from left) who admitted slugging Miss Campbell fatally with a rubber mallet. The officers are (left to right) Ypsilanti Police Chief Harold E. Haun, Morey, Detective Joseph Liebherr of the Ypsialnti post of the Michigan State Police, Washtenaw Prosecutor Douglas K. Reading, and Ann Arbor Police Chief Casper Enkemann.
