Irvin Maynard, manager of the Humane Society of Huron Valley, leads tour of the shelter for members of Girl Scout Troop 674 from Carpenter School. The girls decided they'd like to use proceeds from a money-raising project to aid the shelter but first wanted to observe conditions and the need. So all funds from a Scout-sponsored garage sale, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Monday at 2579 Carlton Dr., will go to the shelter.

This young male ocelot wandered into the yard of Mrs. Thomas G. Wellepp Jr. 1314 Newport Rd., this morning. Mrs. Wellepp tied the visitor on her back porch and called the Humane Society. Irvin Maynard of the society, shown here with the cat, took the stray back to the shelter to await the possible arrival of its owner. The ocelot, which was wearing a pink harness when found, is about the size of a full grown housecat.
