About 700 supporters gathered on the grounds of the Ann Arbor Veterans Administration Hospital Sunday to register support for convicted nurses Leonora Perez and Filipina Narciso. Among those present were Narciso's father, Alfredo (left) and alternate juror Kathleen Robinson (right). Robinson, still stunned by the guilty verdict , said it was "the result of a series of major and tragic misunderstandings of fact and misapplications of law." Perez told the crowd, "I know the truth will come out." Petitions were circulated, and supporters said they would produce "new evidence" proving the nurses' innocence.
