Emmett Cox (left) and Carl Carter, second graders in Mrs. Jean Kelsey's Bach School class, put the finishing touches on their "Big Fat Pumpkin Man." The youngsters' Halloween friend was a class project and the subject of the following poem, entitled "The Big Fat Pumpkin Man," which was composed by the class: Mr. Pumpkin Man From Pumpkin Town; He's so fat he must sit down. We think he's jolly full of fun; On Halloween night he can't make us run.

A new six-classroom wing at Bach School provides a contrast for the architecture of the earlier building. Miss Jean Tuchalski's fourth graders enjoy a spacious new room in the addition. The students, like those at several other schools, were accomodated in make-shift classrooms during the first week of school when school construction projects were not completed on schedule. The Bach addition is now completed and other projects are scheduled to be finished by contractors within the next two weeks.

CARP IN THE BATHTUB: There aren't many places in the average-sized apartment to stash a 33 1/2-inch, 19 pound carp for the day or so the fisherman might want to keep it around. But 13-year-old Jeff Cox, who lives in Trenton but has been visiting relatives at 803 E. Kingsley St. here, solved the problem by installing the big fish and a smaller one in the bathtub. Young Cox caught the lunker in the Huron River at Delhi Park, using a breadball for bait. It took him 30 minutes to net and beach the fish since he was using only an eight-pound-test line and a delicate fiber-glass pole.
