Beth Israel Art Auction Dec. 10 Signed lithographs, etchings, oil paintings and sculpture will be featured at a fundraising art auction and exhibit planned Dec. 10 and sponsored by the Beth Israel Sisterhood. Mrs. Murray Miller, chairman of the auction, looks over some of the work with Fred Grossman of the Gallery Art Center in Berkeley which will exhibit and auction the selection ranging in price from $5 to $1,000 in the Hillel-Beth Israel Building, 1420 Hill St. The auction, which will begin at 8 p.m., will feature work of artists such as Soyer, Hibel, Basking, Miro, Dali, Boulanger and Mercier. There is a one-dollar admission fee.

Bazaar Work Keeps 'Em Busy The fact that sleigh bells and holly are weeks away hasn't stopped area women from planning traditional bazaars and holiday sales. In the picture at the left, members of Westminster Presbyterian Church select apples and cider for the annual church bazaar. A tub of polished apples, "handpicked" by. from the left, Mrs. Bruce Welch, Mrs. William Dowling and Mrs. Rankin Swan, will be featured at the country store. In addition, items ranging from baked goods to antiques to books to novelties will be available. In the picture above, Elizabeth, left, and Rose Marie Cohen put the finishing touches on a group of especially handsome handmade ties which will be sold at the Beth Israel Sisterhood bazaar. Foods, baked goods, handcrafted jewelry, pottery, Chanukah decorations and other items also will be featured, as well as a booth of white elephant "treasures."

Bazaar Plants Readied Preparing for the Beth Israel Sisterhood's annual bazaar to be held Sunday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. are, from the left, Mrs. William H. Jolly, Mrs. Morris J. Richman and Mrs. Jens U. Pedersen. Handmade gift items, toys, antiques, house plants, and homemade baked goods will be featured at the sale. Hebrew Can Be Fun Beth Israel Congregation is sponsoring its third summer Hebrew Play School for children ages 3 to 8. This is the last week of the school for this summer, and children are putting the finishing touches of their school activities. Learning Hebrew by pictures and blocks is a fun method for these children. They are, at the table, Pesach Geffen, Ori Kopelman, Moshe Zand and, in rear, David Reif, and Mrs. Raoul Kopelman. The goals of the school are to present the Hebrew language and the values and ideals of Judaism for pre-schoolers. These children learn to read and write Hebrew.
