Mosaic Presented Applause follows presentation of seed mosaic to the Revs. Richard I. Preis (in coat) and Walter W. Arnold of Trinity Lutheran Church by the Christian education class of the Washtenaw Association for Retarded Children's Adult Activity Center. The class, which had some 50 members, has met weekly at Trinity for the past three years. The Adult Activity Center has used Trinity facilities over a nine-year period. Four members of Trinity teach the class: Judy Wellman, Esther Cobb, Ann Dewey and Carol Gajar. The class made the mosaic from a variety of types of seeds. (News photo by Jack Stubbs)

They'll Perform In Jackson Luther Leaguers of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church rehearse the comedy, "Needlework," to be presented at a rally of the Southern District of the Michigan Synod on Sunday in Jackson. Cast members are (standing, form left) Pat Hellner, Barbara Hakala, Mary Ann Wagner and Steve Jewell, and (seated) Bonnie Bentz. The play is set in 1910 in the needlework department of a dry goods store. The women come to "knit, purl and mangle reputations." The complications of gossip are vividly portrayed in the play. The young people presented the play at the annual convention of the Lutheran Church Women of the Michigan Synod in Jackson last month, and will present it next month at Lutheran Haven, a home for the aged. The Rev. Richard I. Preis, Trinity pastor, directs the presentation. Sunday's meeting will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
