Sitting at a desk in a small room just off the New York Central depot waiting room is P. H. Moss, 54, who has been a telegrapher for the railroad for nearly 45 years. Moss keeps in touch with Detroit and Jackson train dispatchers by special telephonic and teletype communication. He is due to retire this summer.

Center Is Busy Place: This general view of the new Poliomyelitis Respirator Center at University Hospital shows the varied activities conducted to restore patients requiring respirator aid to their homes and at least a near-normal existence. Capacity of the center is eight persons. It is one of only four such units in the country. Causes as well as cures are goals of the Respiratory Center.
